Crain’s Detroit Business, MediaPost: Carbon Media Group Hires Daniel Seliger as Executive Vice President of Content and Marketing

BINGHAM FARMS, Mich., October 20, 2014 – Hyaat Chaudhary, CEO of Carbon Media Group, the largest producer of digital content for those who live, work and play outdoors, announced today that the firm has hired Daniel Seliger to serve as executive vice president of content and marketing for its network of more than 500 websites.

In his role, Seliger will lead Carbon Media Group’s corporate marketing efforts, with a focus on owned and operated properties and the strategy, production and execution for both text and video content throughout Carbon Media Group’s entire digital ecosystem—including the firm’s proprietary digital video network, CarbonTV.com. This will include conceptualizing and implementing marketing strategies relating to text and video content, website marketing, media sales and corporate branding.

“With more than 15 years of diverse marketing experience, Daniel brings a breadth of knowledge and expertise in emerging digital spaces to this role,” said Chaudhary. “As we continue to expand our owned and operated digital properties targeting the outdoors, action sports, and agriculture and rural lifestyle, his experience will help drive our strategic growth initiatives forward.”

Prior to joining Carbon Media Group, Seliger served as vice president, marketing for Birmingham, Mich.-based Dmedia—a mobile subsidiary of Gas Station TV. He previously worked as senior vice president for Inity In-Store, vice president of Cellfish Media and executive vice president of New York-based Rawkus Records.

Crain’s Detroit Business: Bagging the big bucks: From apps to ads, spending on hunting yields a bountiful harvest in Michigan

It wasn’t just shotguns and rifles that hundreds of thousands of hunters began lugging into the wilderness on Saturday for the start of Michigan’s two-week firearms deer hunting season. Some of them also bought new tools: mobile devices and apps to help find and manage their deer hunt, and bottles of energy drink shots to help stay awake until the deer show up.
